I choose the article
titled Teaching History with Technology from thwt.org. Edtechteacher is a
website dedicated to multimedia use with education. The article details several
different options for multimedia use. The first three are presentation options.
PowerPoint is the old stand by for many teachers. For teachers that use Mac’s,
there is Apple Keynote. It is a step up from PowerPoint and is very easy to
use. Prezi is a web based presentation tool. It is different from PowerPoint in
that it uses a single canvas, verses multiple slides like PowerPoint.
Animoto and Voice
Thread are tools that can be used for more basic moving making presentations.
Animoto is very easy to use and allows the user to add music. Voice Thread is a
digital storytelling web based tool. It allows multiple users to comment on a
single artifact.
Glogster allows the
user to create posters. It also allows for the set-up of virtual classroom.
Capzles is used for creating timelines. Users can up load images and music can
be added. Kerpoof is for the creations of animated comics. Users can collaborate
on projects.
The article also
contains links to tutorials for each of the programs, as well as suggestions
how to integrate presentations into curriculum.
**I am in the middle of moving and the microphone has been packed. That is why there is no narration.**
